Description

Coracles are traditional riverboats, round in shape and paddled with one oar. On this fascinating two day workshop you will learn how to make a tradtional ash slatted coracle to take home, where you will complete the project by waterproofing your new boat using the instructions you will have been given. There will be the exciting opportunity to paddle a finished coracle on the Museum mill pond.

This lot is for 1 person.
This lot must be taken up on a date, yet to be announced, in spring 2008.
The winner is responsible for the cost of travel to and from the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum.
Minimum age - 16.
Dinner, bed and breakfast at a local hostelry is included. Any special dietary requirements need to be declared at the time of booking.

Additional Information

The TopLots Heritage Auction is a fundraising event organized by the Association of Independent Museums (Registered Charity: 1082215) acting as the agent for museums, historic houses and heritage organizations across the UK. Delivery of this lot, as described, to the winner is the responsibility of the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum who will receive 80% of the winning bid (less direct transaction and listing costs). The remaining 20% is retained by the Association of Independent Museums.
