Description

The Manchester Museum's extensive collection includes Egyptology, birds and mammals, fossils and dinosaurs, live amphibians and archaeology. This is a unique chance for you to become a conservator for the day, have access to amazing artefacts not on display to the public and discover how we look after our collection.

This lot is for 1 person.
This lot must be taken up by 30 September 2008.
This lot will be taken on a day and at a time to be arranged between the winner and the Manchester Museum.
The winner is responsible for the cost of travel to and from Manchester.
Under 18s need to be accompanied by an adult.
A limited number of objects cannot be included.


Additional Information

The Manchester Museum collections number almost 6 million specimens and objects. Like most museums we are only able to display a tiny percentage of our collection, the remainder is kept in store for use in research, temporary exhibitions and other public programmes.

The TopLots Heritage Auction is a fundraising event organized by the Association of Independent Museums (Registered Charity: 1082215) acting as the agent for museums, historic houses and heritage organizations across the UK. Delivery of this lot, as described, to the winner is the responsibility of the Manchester Museum who will receive 80% of the winning bid (less direct transaction and listing costs). The remaining 20% is retained by the Association of Independent Museums.
